    One Piece Solid Stainless Steel (1/2" nominal size)

    The padlock stud is a one piece design (post and thread together) (Patented) now with 30% less protrusion into the ammo can. Still made

    from Solid machined STAINLESS 303 STEEL
    (Could of done it cheaper overseas but why??).
    The stud is secured with a nylon insert locknut that is High Quality zinc plated steel thus eliminating the need for any thread locking compound. With this Nylon Locknut the bad guy can spin it all day long and the nut will not back off ( the bad guy will though). The watertight integrity of the can still stays intact because we now include a Bonded One Piece combo Metal and Rubber Washer that goes on the inside (instead of the old two piece version). T
    he Large metal weather resistant outside washer is made in the USA also. Go USA .
    The padlock stud will take up to a 1/4" lock shackle. Overkill, but once again why scrimp when security is your goal?  Installation involves drilling one 5/16" hole, insert the stud, put on the one piece bonded metal/rubber washer over the threads, then the locknut and you are Done.
    Will work on all Ammo can lids.
    Slotted lids ( slotted lids require two ), Big hole lids, and Small hole lids. For the small hole lids some minor fitting may be needed. Very Minor. The stud is now a few thousands under a 1/2" so any filing will be very minor as the lid hole is 1/2". If you have a slotted lid or a large hole lid then
    NO
    filing/fitting will be needed.

    INSTALLATION TIP:
    On the 50 cal cans with the small hole latches , close the latch and use a 1/2” bit to lightly drill through the latch hole .
    DO NOT DRILL THROUGH THE CAN
    ,
    But just enough to scratch the surface. This will leave a mark which will be the exact center to start your 5/16” hole.
