This Ballantine’s Scotch Whisky Advertising Water Jug is dark brown with lighter brown highlights. It is formed in the shape of a medieval knight’s helmet which is mounted on an oval plinth. The plinth bears the words Ballantine’s Scotch Whisky applied in white on both sides. The jug has an ice-check spout and applied handle. The base is marked Bottled in Scotland Blended Scotch Whisky 86 Proof, imported by 21 Brands Inc New York. Approximate dimensions are height 18.5cm (7.1/4ln) and 19cm (7.3/4in) across the handle and spout. The condition is very good apart from a very small chip on the edge of the base (see photo).
