Due to issues within the USPS, some packages might be delayed. For the most part, it seems rods are taking extra time to ship. Please keep this in mind. Thank you!
Up for sale is a custom-built bamboo fly rod. It looks like the builder of this rod definitely had some experience under their belt (I couldn't find any info on the name or serial number on the rod). The guide wrappings look very nice; the ferrules are of good quality; and overall, the rod looks well thought-out. With that being said, this rod has been used; however, the majority of the wear can be found on the cork handle/reel seat. As you can see from the photos, the wood butt cap has falling apart, and it will need to be replaced. The cork handle is weathered, and it has some varnish stains on it. The cork is still sturdy, and it doesn't feel terrible in your hand. The bamboo itself is complete and free of any defects. All sections are straight, and they are full length. The varnish on the butt section has some markings from normal wear, but both of the tips are rather clean. The ferrules on this rod fit tight and they measure 19/64". This rod is 9 1/2' long and it feels like it would handle a 8-9wt fly line (would be a perfect steelhead or salmon rod). Its actual weight is 7oz. The sock is included (it has a few small tears and is a tad big). Overall, with a little work to the butt cap area, you will have yourself a very nice rod! Please see all of the photos and thank you for looking.
