Rare original antique engraving from an 1870s French illustrated journal.
It depicts four beautiful St. Bernard dogs patroling the mountains. Early Search & Rescue dogs.
The print is very large (folio size), measuring approximately 10.5 x 14.5 inches (26.5 x 36.5 cm). The picture area fills about half of the page and measures about 7 x 8.5 inches, with a French caption below. The text on the page could easily be trimmed before framing, or hidden under a window mat.
The page is in excellent condition for its age.
