    Estate of Alice Kugelman
From the Connecticut Auction of the Estate of Alice Kugelman, a very well known and highly respected antiques expert comes this
Rare Original Page from the “Christmas Number” of The Graphic Exhibition of Animal Paintings Magazine, this work by the British Painter Basil Bradley (1842-1904) showing two St. Bernards or Newfoundlands Rescuing a Freezing Mountaineer From the Snow.
Measuring 11” x 16,” it is printed on the back side of this painting with a partial literary work. As shown, this is in very good condition considering it is a light piece of nearly 140 year old paper. It does have some creases but is still quite suitable for framing with only a small tear at the bottom edge.
I've recently purchased a large number of antique St. Bernard and Newfoundland items from the Estate of Alice Kugelman, a very well known and highly respected antiques expert who, among other things, had Newfoundlands and was very active in their training and use as rescue dogs. In the 1990s she turned her energies to Connecticut Canine Search and Rescue, founding the volunteer organization in 1994 to provide emergency response for lost, missing, or drowned persons. With her beloved Newfoundland dogs, she participated in rigorous trainings and rescues into her late 70s.
Please watch my listings both for those and what I hope is an interesting and eclectic selection of other vintage and antique items.
